- PhD students at sub-Saharan African universities
- Nationals of a sub-Saharan African country, including Nigeria
- Candidates with at least one Scopus/WoS-indexed paper from their thesis
- Researchers who already have a willing host
What you get
A monthly allowance up to €3,000 for a 1–2 month stay between March and July 2027.
Requirements
- Research proposal (max 5 pages) agreed with host
- CV on AGNES template
- Proof of doctoral registration
- Official transcripts with grading explanation
- Invitation letter from scientific host
How to apply
- Agree a research plan with a host in another African country
- Prepare proposal, CV (AGNES template), transcripts, proof of registration, travel quotes and host letter
- Combine files (max 12 MB)
- Submit via the AGNES Google Form by 16 October 2026
